Lynn Ann Parker, of Ann Arbor, Michigan passed away with her sisters by her side on December 9, 2020, at the age of 65. Lynn was born in Ann Arbor on May 1, 1955 to Arthur F. Parker, Jr. and Helen (Winkler) Parker. Lynn attended Wines Elementary, Forsythe Junior High School and Pioneer High School. For the early part of her life through Junior High, she lived with her family across from Creal Park and later moved to a neighborhood near Pioneer High School. This move, as well as her family belonging to Huron Valley Swim Club, allowed her to befriend people from all parts of the Ann Arbor area. Lynn had an extremely outgoing personality and she had many, many friends. She has friendships that began in Elementary School and has made hundreds of friends along the way. Several people reached out to us to let us know of her unexpected acts of thoughtfulness to them, sometimes before even meeting them in person. She was a generous and giving soul and took great pleasure in performing acts of kindness and giving gifts to others. Lynn met her fiancé Kevin Hay in Junior High School and they recently reunited, becoming engaged this past summer. She had moved to Tawas to start a new life with him just a few days before her death. Lynn was a deeply loving and caring woman and was close with her parents and sisters, Nancy and Sallie. She also had a large, loving extended family that adored her. She grew up with her grandparents, and many of her cousins, Aunts and Uncles around her. Her beloved cousins, Susie (Parker) Brown and Marianne (Parker) Harkness were raised with her as sisters, and she, Nancy and Sallie spent many years together as children and teens. Lynn is also dear to many of her cousins and family in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania where she traveled every other year for Family Reunions which she took an active role in organizing. Lynn adored her family and was an active part of her four nieces lives throughout their childhoods. Lynn had many hobbies and interests. She was an avid reader of fiction and loved movies, particularly the old black and white classics. She enjoyed spectator sports of all kinds, particularly Tiger Baseball, Michigan Football, the Detroit Redwings and figure skating. Lynn was a collector of antiques and enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales, discovering just the right piece of previously loved but no longer wanted items. She shared that passion with her parents and friends. Lynn was employed in the banking, mortgage and title industries throughout her adult life. She had been working full time while she lived with and took care of her elderly parents at night until she was forced to retire due to a head injury from a fall at home in March, 2020. She loved her parents dearly and was devastated at their passing this year in September (Helen) and October (Arthur). She was also proceeded in death by her paternal grandparents, Arthur F., Sr. and Janetta (Wilson) Parker, maternal grandparents, Mathias and Rosina (Segedi) Winkler as well as other beloved family members including her Aunt Janetta (Parker) and Uncle Red (Walter) Weid, Aunt Dotty Ann (Parker) Lapp, Aunt Sandie (Hudo) Parker, and Uncle Robert (Bobbie) Parker as well as her cousins, Art Weid (exactly one year ago on the same date, which also happened to be Lynn’s late-father’s birthday), Matthew Weid and Jimmy Marron. Lynn is survived by both of her sisters, Nancy Parker (David Sager) and Sallie Parker, her nieces, Lauren, Jessica and Natalie Lakin and Madison Sager, her Uncle, Richard Parker (Sandie Hudo), Uncle, John Lapp, Aunt, Jane (FIngerle) Parker, and her cousins, Walter Weid (Trudy), Janie Weid Johnson (Don), Karen Weid (Artie), Parker Lapp (Carlene), Richard Lapp, Susie Parker Brown (Jeff), Marianne Parker Harkness (Jim), Julie Marron Parker (Greg) Anne-Marie Marron and many additional loving cousins in the Ann Arbor area as well as in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. Lynn’s giving spirit lives on through her tissue and bone donation to Gift of Life. A private family burial will take place at Washtenong Memorial Park in Ann Arbor, Michigan. A Celebration of Life will take place at a future date where we will all come together to celebrate the precious memory of our sister, our family member, our friend, who has left us way too soon. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Lynn Parker to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
