

Muray Bridges Taylor, born the daughter of Col. Dwight and Mildred (Mikesell) Bridges on March 9, 1941 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, died peacefully on September 19, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents and her stepmother Alma (Diller) Bridges. She is survived by her long-time companion Roland Wacker, her sister Susan (Jim) Lippert, brother Mark (Jill) Bridges, sons Mark (Monika Nitsche) Taylor and Scott Taylor, grandchildren Maya and Sofia Taylor, and many extended family members who love her dearly. Muray grew up mostly in Texas, moving frequently as the child of a career airman. She graduated from high school in San Antonio in 1959 and attended Kansas University. She moved to Ann Arbor in 1965 and had a long career at the University of Michigan Law School in Human Resources. She was kind and generous to everyone she met. She loved to work in her garden, visit her grandchildren in Albuquerque, talk to her neighbors, and shop. Her favorite pastime was walking. In her prime she walked over 50 miles each week throughout Ann Arbor. A memorial service will be held at Muehlig Funeral Chapel in Ann Arbor on Sunday, October 16, at 2:00 pm. Calling hours will begin at 1:00 pm. A reception will be held at the Chapel directly after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Muray’s name to Arbor Hospice, 2366 Oak Valley Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48103.
