Patricia Ann Williams, age 53, passed away May 2, 2011 at home with her loving family at her side, after an 11 month unfair battle with gastric cancer. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, on July 12, 1957 to Francis and Catherine Marino. Pat was the third of their four children. She grew up in Birmingham and Grosse Pointe, Michigan graduating from Grosse Pointe North and Central Michigan University. She met her husband Timothy Williams at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation while being tested as a kidney donor for her brother John. She turned out to be a match for her brother, donated her kidney and married Timm. They were married on November 20, 1981 at St. Paul’s on The Lake in Grosse Pointe. After college she worked for Dickinson, Wright Law Firm in downtown Detroit, TRW in Cleveland and the Ann Arbor Chamber of Commerce. Her career as a Realtor, however, was her most rewarding. She loved people and loved to talk, which lent itself very nicely to this line of work. She served on numerous committees with the Ann Arbor Area Board of Realtors and served proudly as President of the Board in 2003. She was named Realtor of the Year in 2006. Pat’s true passion was her family, where she taught them to love unconditionally and laugh often. In learning of Pat’s passing her oncologist said it best: “Her smile and personality, even in the dark moments, brightened the room and inspired all of us with whom she came in contact. It was truly an honor and privilege to have known her. ” She will be sadly missed by all that knew her, especially her husband, soul mate and best friend Timm Williams. She leaves behind her children: daughter Jenna (Joshua) Greene of Chicago, daughter Lindsey Williams of Ann Arbor and son Matthew Williams of Ann Arbor; mother Catherine Marino; sister Marygrace (Michael) Britt, and brother Joseph (Elizabeth) Marino. She was predeceased by her father Dr. Frank J. Marino in 1979 and brother John Francis Marino in 1992. As Pat always said, “Bring it on”. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 8pm at Muehlig Funeral Chapel in Ann Arbor. Final visitation will be Friday from 9:30-10:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish in Ann Arbor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am and a burial at Forest Hill Cemetery. Contributions in Pat’s memory can be made to Arbor Hospice. To share a memory, please visit www.muehligannarbor.com.
