Robert Charles Ryder

Ryder, Robert Charles 9/24/1937 - 1/4/2017 Ryder, Robert Charles age 79 of Ann Arbor, Michigan died Wednesday, January 4, 2017. Robert was born the son of Charles and Marie Ryder in Detroit, Michigan on September 24, 1937. After he graduated high school in 1955 he went on to Eastern Michigan University and then Central Michigan University where he received his Master Degree. He retired in 1993 from Ford Motor Corporation after 38 years of service as a financial analyst. On October 4, 1958 he married Evelyn Jean Shayler. Robert loved to roller skate, he was an avid bowler, he ran marathons, he also loved to read and watch all University of Michigan Sports, most of all he loved spending time with his family. Robert Leaves behind his beloved wife of 58 years; Evelyn Jean, children; Suzanne (Walt) Smith and Scott (Joyce) Ryder, grandchildren; Katie Ryder, Kelly (Daniel) Vaughn, Bob Smith and Jennifer Smith, brother; David (Sharon) Ryder, sister; Virginia Butzlaff, sister-in-law; Marion Susci, and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations will support the Paul R. Lichter, M.D. Vision Research Discovery Fund.
