

Laplante, Rose Marie of Ann Arbor, Michigan died Tuesday, July 5, 2016. She was affectionately known to her family as “Ro” or “Rosie”. Rose was born on July 30, 1927 in Rochester, New York the daughter of Frank and Antoinette D’Agostino. The family moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan where Rose attended and graduated from Ann Arbor High. After a chance meeting again in 1999 Rose married her longtime sweet heart Robert in 2002 at the age of 75, he preceded her in death in 2005. She worked at the Michigan League Snack Bar supervising food preparation and presentation, she was both tough and fair to those that worked for her; she retired in 1984. Rose was truly loved by all who met her. She loved anything Irish, U of M Football, discussing current events with her Social Sorority and was a longtime member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church; she also had a great memory and the uncanny ability with recalling numbers, she was able to remember the birthdates of anyone she met. Rose devoted much of her life to the love and care of her family especially her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Her memory will be eternal in their hearts. Rose was also preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Carmela Letourneau. Survived by: Diane (Tom) Hamel, Richard (Sheila) Letourneau, Denis (Diane Heidt) Letourneau, Olida (Mike) Harris; her great nieces who cared for her until she passed away; Michelle (Tim) Roberts and Stephanie (Ryan) Racine. She is furthered survived by her brothers and sisters; Anthony D’Agostino, Irene Krauss, Daniel (Barbara) D’Agostino and their children; great nieces and nephews; Shannon Hamel, Roger Letourneau, Patricia (Mark) Marcy, Olida (Ramsey) Hinkle, Richard (Elaine) Letourneau, Kelsey (Jeremy) Schellie and Jenna Letourneau. There are several great great nieces and nephews and many dear friends. A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church (530 Elizabeth St, Ann Arbor). Visitation will be Sunday, July 17 at Muehlig Funeral Chapel from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Washtenong Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations may be offered to the charity of your choice. In keeping with Rose’s sprit “GO BLUE!”
