

St. Charles, Susan 6/13/1956 - 9/16/2017 Ann Arbor, MI Susan St. Charles, (61), passed away peacefully at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI on the 16th of September, 2017 of complications from breast cancer. She was born June 13, 1956 to Robert H. Lyons, Sr. and Marjorie E. Lyons in Midland, Michigan, and received a BS degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Chemistry from Western Michigan University and an MS in Hospital Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. She furthered her education with additional courses in business and fundraising from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI, Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Sue had a successful career in business and fund development and improved the lives of many through her work at the Midland Center for the Arts and the University of Michigan. For the past five years, she worked in the Office of University Development at University of Michigan and brought passion and skill to her role on a daily basis. As Director of Annual Giving, her commitment to donor-centric work and supporting and developing her team was unwavering. She loved gardening, water color painting, reading, dogs, horseback riding, traveling in Europe, exploring museums and art galleries, experiencing diverse cuisines, and visiting Walt Disney World. Sue was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by her mother Marjorie, daughters Jordan St Charles (Chris Bozzelli) of Durham, NC and Whitney St Charles of Los Angeles, CA, her granddaughter Coraline Bozzelli, and her siblings Marti (Tim) Wendler of Ann Arbor, MI, Jodi (Gary) Egnor of Midland, MI, Bob Lyons, Jr. (Sally Camper) of Ann Arbor, MI, Bill Lyons of Freeland, MI and Carol Lyons-Bell (Pat Bell) of Freeland, MI, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She requested no funeral service. A private family gathering is being planned.
