Sydney was born on February 7, 2004, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Thomas and Lisa Bain. She grew up in the Milan area, graduating from Milan High School in 2022. Sydney was an exceptional student whose intelligence and determination were evident in everything she did. She dreamed of becoming an airline pilot or an actuary one day. There is no doubt she would have achieved anything she set her mind to.
From a young age, Sydney developed a lifelong love for horses. She grew up competing in equestrian events, where her hard work and natural talent fueled her success. Sydney’s skills ranked her number one in the state in equestrian jumping competitions, where her eventing talent also wowed judges. Whether in the arena, on the golf course, or trying something new, Sydney had a gift for excelling in whatever she pursued. She became an impressive golfer after only a short time playing the game.
Sydney shared a special bond with her parents and Tyler through their time spent together practicing shooting, playing golf, and going to horse shows. She was passionate about staying active and dedicated much of her time to fitness and going to the gym.
More than anything, Sydney loved animals. Her puppies: Nala and Bagel, held such a special place in her heart and brought her endless joy.
Sydney will always be remembered for her bright, contagious smile and the warmth she brought into every room she entered. She loved her family deeply (especially her little brother, Tyler) and cherished her friends. Her kindness, strength, and joyful spirit have left a permanent mark on this world.
In 2025, Sydney was diagnosed with stage four cancer. For nine months, she faced her illness with incredible courage and determination, fighting valiantly until the very end. Her strength throughout her journey was an inspiration reaching far beyond family and friends.
