Anne was born in Baltimore Maryland to Richard T. and Margret A. Pillsbury. Soon after her birth she moved to Salisbury Maryland where she lived until graduating from high school. She attended Wicomico High School and Linden Hall School for Girls in Lititz. Pennsylvania. Anne attended Marjorie Webster Junior College and then completed the Radiology Technician program at Johns Hopkins School of Radiology Technology.
In 1952 Anne married Dr. John (Jack) G. Lyons, Jr. and moved to Hartford Connecticut for 4 years where Jack completed his residency in Anesthesiology. In 1956, Anne and Jack settled in Annapolis, where Jack started the Department of Anesthesia at what was then Anne Arundel General Hospital, now Anne Arundel Medical Center. They had three children.
In 1970 Anne married Dr. Neil H. Sims, a pediatrician who co-founded what is now Annapolis Pediatrics. They then moved to Little Rock, Arkansas where Neil was Professor of Pediatrics at University of Arkansas until his death in 1985.
Anne was in Real Estate for most of her working life, starting in Annapolis for 11 years and then in Little Rock for 30 years. After retiring in 2003, she moved back to Maryland where she settled in Stevensville until moving to Ginger Cove in Annapolis in 2012.
Anne is survived by her three daughters, Lisa Lyons and husband Michael Kowalski of Chester, Missy Griffin Bergman and husband Ray of Annapolis, and Kathy Lyons Brower and husband Bryan of Lakeland, TN. She has three grandchildren, Reid Griffin, Colin Griffin and Allie Costa and spouse Chardei. Anne also has one great-grandson Alioth Costa.
