Carolyn Ann (Carr) Jamieson was born on October 16, 1944 in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Elinor (Friel) and Kenneth Carr. She was a graduate of Academy High School and Erie Business Center. She married John Jamieson on October 7, 1972 at the Church of the Covenant in Erie. A few years after their wedding, John and Carolyn settled with their son, Chris, in Poolesville, Maryland, where they were soon joined by another son, Kevin. In Poolesville, Carolyn raised her boys and was an active volunteer in their classes at Montgomery County Public Schools. She was ordained an elder at Poolesville Presbyterian Church and was active in the ministry there. After their kids finished school, Carolyn and John relocated first to Ohio and then to Annapolis, Maryland, where Carolyn, an avid and talented crafter and quilter, worked for many years at Cottonseed Glory/Crabby Quilter quilt shop. Carolyn and John enjoyed traveling, taking trips to Europe and New Zealand in addition to US destinations, and particularly loved spending time with their extended family.
After a full life, Carolyn passed away peacefully at her home in Annapolis on December 7, 2025. She will be remembered as a loving wife to her husband, John; a caring Mom to her sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher (Erin) and Kevin (Lori) Jamieson; and an exceptional Grammie to her granddaughter, Rose Jamieson. She was a good friend and sister to Eileen (Keith) Pierce and sister-in-law, Barb Carr. She was “Aunt Kay” to nephews, Matthew (Shelly) Pierce, Michael (Tara) and Brian (Katie) Carr; nieces, Karen (Bill) Gilette and Laurie (John) Michalak; and great-nieces and nephews, Emma, Jack, Connor, Jack, Ethan, Ava, Abby, Ella, Violet, Asher, Isla, Cece, Sophie, and Drew. She will also be remembered by dear friends and her church community. We have faith that Carolyn will be welcomed in Heaven by her parents, Elinor and Kenneth; her dear brother, David Carr; and many friends and other loved ones.
Services in remembrance of Carolyn will be held at a future date to be announced at First Presbyterian Church, Annapolis, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations to First Presbyterian or to Gilchrist Hospice would be welcome.
