

Cecilia Negla Penzo November 22, 1944 – July 13, 2016 On Wednesday, July 13, 2016, Cecilia (CeCe) Negla Penzo passed away peacefully at home in Annapolis, Maryland. Born in Izmir, Turkey, on November 22, 1944, she is the beloved companion of Arthur Prahinski for 6 years. She is survived by two sons Eddie and Oben Dragonetti, grandchildren Lola and Tom Dragonetti and her youngest grandson, Leon Dragonetti, all of whom living in Belgium. She is also survived by a sister, Lydia Oliver of Pace, Florida and two brothers, Joseph Penzo, Jale, of Annapolis, and Bruno Penzo, Betsy, of Naples, Florida. Cecilia enjoyed life, was active in the Annapolis Rotary Club and was loved and admired by all for her quick wit, her warm smile, her hospitality and generosity. She grew up in a Turkish Levantine Christian Community, speaking 5 languages at home, going to the Turkish school for 5 hours each day, followed by another 5 hours in a private French Catholic school for six days each week. In addition she had piano and ballet lessons on Sunday. Her dream was to travel. By the age of 20 she was the manager of TWA’s Izmir operations. Latter with a partner she opened a travel agency in Izmir and expanded to Paris. She followed that with her artistic career of Jewelry Manufacturing. Following Cecilia’s wishes, family and friends will celebrate her life at a viewing at the Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street in Annapolis at 6:30 to 8 pm on Tuesday, July 19th. This will be followed on July 20th with the 10:30 am, Mass at Saint Mary’s Church at 109 Duke of Gloucester Street. The mass will be followed by a eulogy and a social gathering at a nearby facility. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Polio Plus Fund c/o the Annapolis Rotary.
