Frank is survived by his brother Al Smith, his sister Kathy Lomaskin, brother-in-law David Lomaskin, nephews Mark and Jon Lomaskin, and numerous cousins.
He graduated from Severna Park High School in 1974 and continued his education at Berklee College of Music in Boston. When he wasn't creating or performing music, Frank worked as a cyber security professional, most recently as a CISSP assigned to the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington DC. He also served his community as a respected member of the Annapolis Masonic Lodge #89, where he held the position of Worshipful Master in 1997.
Music was Frank's lifelong passion. While he will be most often remembered for his talents on the guitar, he was gifted on multiple instruments, he sang vocal leads and harmonies, arranged music and composed original tunes. He was dedicated to his craft and shared his passion - teaching and inspiring friends and family members throughout his life. He leaves behind a legacy of harmony in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and he will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held Saturday September 27, 2025, 2pm at the Annapolis Masonic Lodge #89, 162 Conduit St., Annapolis MD 21401, followed by a Musical Celebration of his Life from 4 to 8 pm at the Wiley H Bates Legacy Center 1101 Smithville St., Annapolis, MD 21401
