

Iva Laverne Ford passed away suddenly on May 20, 2021. Iva was born in Annapolis, Maryland on January 23, 1935 to the late Frank and Iva Brashears. She lived in Mayo the majority of her early life. She attended Mayo Elementary school and graduated from Annapolis Senior High School. She was employed by the Anne Arundel County Government serving as an Administrative Assistant for the County Council. During her later years she moved to Ocean City and lived in the Montego Bay Community. In 2017 she moved to Ocean Pines. She enjoyed going to the beach and just living the Ocean City Life. She enjoyed spending time with her four legged friends as well as her family and friends. She loved gardening, word searches and her modern technology – Iphone, Tablet and Facebook. The most enjoyable time she ever had was being a Continental Breakfast Receptionist at The Holiday Inn Express in Ocean City.
She is preceeded in death by James E. Ford, Sr., and her siblings Iona Brashears , Howell G. Brashears and Milford Brashears.
Iva is survived by her four Children James E. Ford, Jr., Gail L. Bobersky and her husband Geoffrey, Brian L. Ford and Michael G. Ford and his wife Donna; two grandchildren Colin M. Bobersky and Nicole M. Mosher.
The family will receive friends at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street Annapolis, MD 21401 on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 6 to 8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 10 am. Interment in Church of Saint Andrew the Fisherman Cemetery.
