Leah-May M. Sears Taylor, 84, a resident of Harwood, passed away January 7 after a brain hemorrhage. Born January 7, 1937 in Annapolis to the late John Clifton Sears and Nettie-May Sears. She graduated from Annapolis High School in 1955 and married Charles C. Taylor, III on October 27, 1961. Her top priority was being a homemaker and caring for her family. She also was part of the family businesses; Charles C. Taylor, III Electrical Contractor, Inc. and the former Taylor & Son’s, Inc. Amusement Rides. She was a member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, Ladies of the Elks, and the Maryland Showmen’s Association. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, painting Merry-Go-Round horses, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children Charles C. “Cleve” Taylor, IV of Annapolis, Michael C. “Clif” Taylor of Annapolis, and Leah Ann Taylor Gross (husband, Carl) of Harwood; sister Ida-Ann S. Dunagan (husband, Jim) of Annapolis; six grandchildren Charles and Carley Taylor, Elizabeth Joyner (husband, Mike) and Michael Taylor, Ashley and Douglas Gross; and two great-grandchildren Kyleigh and Emilia Joyner.
Visitation is from 6-8pm, Tuesday, January 12 and from 12-1pm, Wednesday, January 13 at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis, where funeral service will be held at 1pm, Wednesday at the Taylor Chapel. Interment to follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
