

Annapolis - Linda Marie Dietz Whelan died peacefully in her Annapolis home on Tuesday the 25th of October with her good friend Joanne, by her side. Linda was born to Wilfred and Evelyn Dietz on April 22, 1950 in Annapolis, MD. She was a graduate of Montgomery Blair High School. After high school Linda joined the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps. Later, she worked for Giant Foods and at the Annapolis Yacht Club. Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer and was given just six months to live. She fought cancer for over a decade and while doing so lived life to its fullest. She was a huge Redskins fan and an even bigger Ravens fan. Linda truly enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter who lived nearby. Together, they would go to church, play games, paint their nails and ride on her electric chair. Linda enjoyed designing, creating and repairing custom jewelry. She was also passionate about music from many different genres. She is preceded in death by both of her parents as well as her husband, Denis Whelan. Linda is survived by her son, Rocky (Beche) and her two stepdaughters, Erin (Andy) and Meghan (Nate). In addition, Linda is survived by five grandchildren: Zavaan, Evan, Brytt, Rowyn, Levi and Sebastian. She is also survived by three sisters: Karen, Lisa and Terri, a brother, Kevin, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family will gather at Taylor Funeral Home on Friday the 28th of October between 10-11am. A service to be held immediately following at 11am.
