

She was born on March 15, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Irene Odgers Wiley and Dale Andrew Wiley. She grew up in Jarrettsville, Maryland and attended Jarrettsville Elementary School and North Harford High School, then moved with her family to Monkton, Maryland and graduated from Hereford High School, where she was valedictorian of the Class of 1966. She attended Western Maryland/McDaniel College and obtained her BA degree in English from the University of Baltimore.
Linda owned and operated the magazine "CrossRoads" in Harford County, Maryland for many years. She also sold real estate and was a webmaster for the State of Maryland Department of Natural Resources at the time of her death. A very creative soul, Linda loved writing poetry and sharing it with friends and family. She was an adventurous woman and at one point in her life taught English while living in Iran. Linda lived passionately. She loved the outdoors, gardening, good food and live music, especially when it was performed by her nephew Ruben. She loved her friends and large extended family, and enjoyed collecting and thrifting, exploring the beach in search of sea glass and so much more.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her stepfather, James B. Rutledge Jr., her brothers Dale and William Wiley and her sister-in-law Kimberly Rutledge. She is survived by her siblings Helena Wiley of York, PA; Abbie Yant and her husband Larry of San Francisco, CA.; Joseph Wiley and his wife Marilyn of Lansing, MI; James B. Rutledge III of Bel Air, MD; Michael Rutledge and his partner David Laubach of Salisbury, MD; and sister-in-law Ellen Wiley of Abington, MD. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held when it is once again safe for family and friends to travel and gather in Linda's memory.
