Margaret C. Keeler (Peggy) passed away at Ginger Cove in Annapolis on September 9, 2015. Peggy was born on April 6, 1925 in Rochester, New York, which is where she met her life-long love, Owen F. Keeler Jr. (USNA '43). After marriage the couple lived in Alexandria, Virginia, Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and Annapolis, Maryland. The mother of three girls, Peggy still found time to be an active volunteer everywhere she lived. The Naval Academy was dear to her heart, leading her to volunteer in the gift shop, and to sing with the Chapel's civilian chorale for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen, her youngest daughter Susan Keeler Smith, and her brother William J. Carnahan. She is survived by her daughters Patricia Jean (Michel) and Catherine Ranger (Richard), grandchildren Emilie Jean Irving, Owen Ranger, and Grace Smith, by her twin sister, Patricia S. Carnahan, as well as many nieces and nephews. Services will be held in the Main Chapel of the US Naval Academy in Annapolis at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, October 7. Inurnment will be at the US Naval Academy Columbarium.
