

Margaret Brimer Leonard, “Peggy”, age 90, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 29, 2022. Peggy was born and raised in Snow Hill, Maryland and attended Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland. She married Laurance “Larry” Leonard and moved to Eastport, Maryland and eventually moved to Annapolis, Maryland where she spent most of her life.
Peggy loved her friends and had many. She felt blessed to have friends of all ages. Peggy enjoyed sailing on the Chesapeake, tennis, gardening, antique shopping, needlepoint, painting ,and a variety of crafts. She attended Asbury United Methodist Church in Arnold, Md. Peggy especially enjoyed the 26 years she worked in the Annapolis State House as an assistant to the Speaker of the House. Peggy received the honor of having the State House flag flown over the State House for her many years of service. Peggy made friends everywhere. She loved Michael Brown’s (Cakes and Confections) cranberry scones as well as Michael’s contagious smile!
Peggy is predeceased by her sister, Emily Carey and many of her dear friends including Ruth Case, Betty Ruddle and Emily Russell. She is survived by her four children, Martha (Marty) Stillman, Laurance (Larry) Leonard, Laura (Kathy/Katherine) Daly and Thomas (Scott) Leonard, her six grandchildren Will Dammeyer, Meg Henderson, Ben Dammeyer, Lindsay McCollough, Kate Baccus and Nan Meisner and her ten great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Spring Arbor of Severna Park and Hospice of the Chesapeake for the exceptional care and fondness they shared with Peggy. Special thanks to Erin Ward for all the special attention she generously shared.
A private service will be held graveside in Snow Hill, Md. Date to be determined.
