Mary Catherine (Krempa) Rowley of Annapolis, Maryland, formerly of Pittston, Pennsylvania passed away on August 21, 2020 with her children by her side. Mary was born in Pittston on May 18, 1944 to Frank and Catherine (McHale) Krempa. Upon graduation from Pittston Nursing School, she relocated to New York City to work at Mt Sinai Hospital. She married the love of her life, James Patrick Rowley of Queens, NY, a New York City police officer who died in the line of duty in 1983. She lived for many years in East Meadow, NY where she raised her family and continued a career in healthcare. Upon retiring, Mary relocated back to Pittston to take excellent care of her mother. After the passing of her mother, she moved to Annapolis to be near her children. Mary devoted her life to her family and was loved by all for her kindness, generosity and ability to make life fun. Mary had many passions - among them: planning trips, preparing for tax season (it's true!), a good tomato, summer corn, Maryland Live slot machines (or any slot machines), Rehoboth Beach (or any beach), the sounds of trains and thunderstorms, dropping in on her kids with Alexa, Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma, watching David Muir every night at 6:30pm, walking in the pool where there was no pain, comfy sheets and blankets, Catty's vegetable soup, doing laundry, being overly stocked with paper goods, scratch off lottery tickets and playing online scrabble. To celebrate Mary's life, treat yourself to something nice in her honor - she would like that. Please share a note or a memory below.
