

Patricia (Murchake) Rupp, affectionately known as "Pat", 75, of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2016. She was born in Washington D.C. and raised on Fishing Creek Farm in Annapolis, Maryland. Patricia was the 11th and youngest child of John and Mary Murchake. Patricia graduated from Annapolis High School in 1959, at age 18, and went to work for Gallagher & Hughley working as a secretary. Patricia's career would span 54 years through various businesses and law firms such as Stambler & Shrinsky, Shrinsky Weitzman & Eisen, Wallace, King, Branson & Marrero, and finally retiring in 2013 from the global law firm of Sedgwick LLP. In the 1980s, she took a break from working for law firms to partner with her Husband Robert to form a company that built fish ponds and water features called Innovative Dimensions Inc, which became the premier Koi pond building company in the Washington D.C. area. In 1963, Patricia met her lifelong love and partner, Robert Rupp. They married in early 1965 and had their first son Ervin Rupp, who was born in 1965 and their second son, Jeffery Rupp, born in 1967. Patricia's passions were family, friends, reading and her career. Patricia was an incredibly strong and caring woman, who always put the needs of others before herself. She was extremely close with her very extended family always keeping in touch with everyone from her brothers and sisters to the hundreds of a large family network of nieces, nephews, grand children, and friends. Patricia is survived by her Husband Robert Rupp, sons Ervin and his wife Nannette and Jeffery Rupp. She is also survived by three brothers, Richard, David, George, and sister Catherine (Cookie). Patricia also has two wonderful grandsons Nicholas and Caleb. Her immediate extended family includes Clinton John Beck Jr., Jennifer Zaborsky and her husband Justin and their son Nico and daughter Arabella, Nicole Zaborsky and her daughter Dominique all of whom loved Patricia and will miss her greatly. Patricia Rupp was a beacon of light and an inspiration to all who met and knew her. She will be missed, as the world was a significantly brighter place with her in it. A memorial gathering is presently in the planning stages to celebrate Patricia's life. The immediate family will notify all other family and friends when the date and place are finalized.
