Robert Sommers Taylor Jr., 59, passed away December 29th, 2015 after a short battle with cancer at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Robert, known by many of his friends as Bob "Slick" Taylor, was born in Annapolis on August 21st, 1956 to the late Robert Sommers Taylor Sr. And Harriett H Taylor. Mr. Taylor worked along side his family at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home in Annapolis for over 20 years. Taylor, an avid bird watcher was always fascinated with the outdoors. He was specifically interested in ducks and owls. Hunting and fishing while living on the water in Annapolis were regular activities. Bob enjoyed competition trap shooting with his father and brothers as well, where he had a lot of success. While working and living in Annapolis, Bob enjoyed walking around downtown. He was considered a regular at both McGarveys and Chick and Ruth's. Bob is survived by his family of three children and their mother. Whitney St. Claire Taylor, Sara White Taylor and Robert Sommers Taylor III. Christina Dietz, Bobs ex wife and dear friend, stayed by his side in support all the way to the end, just as their children did. Bob will live on through his children, and his three siblings Jamie, Jeff, and Robin Taylor. In his memory Bob asks that contributions go to Ducks Unlimited, or any organization supporting the protection of the Chesapeake bay and its surrounding waters. Those who knew him best will remember him by having a drink at McGarveys, and perhaps telling an inappropriate joke to someone having a bad day. Bob "Slick" Taylor will be truly missed by all. He was a one of a kind father, brother, son, and friend, who would do anything to help put a smile on your face. Services are private.
