

On Wednesday, January 5, 2022, Wayne Ashley, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at the age of 80. Wayne was born on January 17, 1941, in Clifton, NC, to Grace Roten.
He was a welder by trade, helping to construct a span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in the early 70s. Wayne was a kind and loving man, with a wit and spunk that would light up any room. He loved going to watch the horse races with his buddies, Harry, Eddie, and Dale. He loved southern-Gospel and country music and, even in his darkest days, you could find him singing a song in that beautiful voice of his. He loved his family and he was loved greatly by all who crossed his path.
Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Roten, his sister, Betty Jo Miller, and his son, Wayne C. Ashley Jr. He is survived by his wife, Marge (Maggie Mae) Ashley, his children Ricky Ashley, Karen (KM) Parker, and Betty (Bet Bet) Boggs (Skip), Butch Trappe (Lori - LoLo), James Wayne Ashley (Tammy - TamTam), April Christensen (Rich), and 14 grand children and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 10, 2021 from 6 to 8 PM at the Taylor Funeral Home on 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD. Services will be held Tuesday January 11th at 11 AM in the Taylor Chapel. Interment at Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
