

Funeral Service for Mrs. Barbara Monica Rackstraw Cosper will be held at 2pm on Sunday, July 30th, 2017 at Grace Episcopal Church with The Rev. Dr. Lee Shafer officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service in King Parlor at the church. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. Mrs. Cosper passed away July 25th, 2017.
Mrs. Cosper was a native of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England. She came to this country to marry her fiance, Ed Cosper, who was in the Eighth Air Force, stationed in High Wycombe. They were married on July 31st, 1946 in Grace Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Cosper is preceded in death by her parents, Len and Mona Rackstraw; her husband of 51 years, Ed Cosper; sisters Irene Glenister and Betty Carvell.
Survivors include her daughters, Monica Murphy of Huntsville, and Cynthia Yancey of Anniston; Three grandchildren, Taylor Suggs of Huntsville, Lauren Falls (husband Jay) of Northport, and Jordan Yancey of Georgia; one great-grandchild Sydney Elyse Suggs; niece Deeda Luallen (husband Ronnie); nephews John Glenister, Richard Glenister (wife Sue), Michael McCluskey, David McCluskey (wife Dianne); several great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece.
Pallbearer will be David McCluskey, Ronnie Luallen, Mae Luallen, Ron Burson, Ed Bailey and Don King.
Barbara Cosper was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church for 71 years. She loved her family and friends, her church, her knitting club, British Wives Club, exercise class, Alabama football, and her flower garden. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. The family requests memorials be made to Grace Episcopal Church. Flowers will be accepted because of her love of flowers.
