

Funeral services for Bennie Lee Wooten Sr., 74, of Anniston, will be 11 am Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Dr. Rick Reaves officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Wooten died Monday at his residence.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Martha Talley Wooten of Anniston, two daughters, Terri Wooten of Jacksonville and Misti Medders (Aron) of Illinois, one son, Bennie Lee Wooten Jr., of Anniston, four grandchildren, Courtney Wooten, Zachary Wooten and Bryant and Blake Medders, one sister, Sybil Jacks (Buddy) of Chattanooga, TN.
Mr. Wooten is preceded in death by his parents A.W. “Shorty” and Louise Wooten.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Fortune, Zachary Wooten, Travis Bryant, Buddy Jacks, Robert Phillips and Aron Medders.
Mr. Wooten was a native of Calhoun County and a member of Hill Crest Baptist Church. Mr. Wooten retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He retired from the Anniston Museum of Natural History and was a former host at Chick-Fil-A at the Quintard Mall where he met many friends young and old.
