

Beverly Dale Howard Garrett, 73, of Anniston, AL, passed away on April 13, 2026. She was born on November 15, 1952, in Solano, CA, at the former Mare Island Naval Base to Roland and Myrtle Howard.
Beverly spent most of her life in Calhoun County. She graduated from Alexandria High School in 1970 and from Holy Name of Jesus Nursing School in Gadsden, AL, in 1975. She was married to Billy Joe Garrett for fifty years and was a devoted wife and mother. For nearly ten years, she worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Keshin Gehi and later at Anniston Medical Clinic.
She was a faithful member of Weaver Congregational Methodist Church, where she was married, sang in the choir, and served in many ways. She was a band member, Girl Scout, singer, artist, babysitter, softball player, flower gardener, lover of animals, birthday cake maker, caregiver, Christ-follower, wife, mother, Grammy, and beloved friend.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Garrett; her son, Matthew Garrett (Stephanie); her daughter, Jody Stephens; her former son-in-law, Lee Stephens; and her grandchildren, Levi Garrett, Evie Garrett, Mattie Stephens, Olivia Garrett, Bevan Stephens, Ava Garrett, and Isaiah Garrett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Michael and Bo Howard; her sisters-in-law, Susan Howard, Peggy Laird, and Pat Garrett; and her brothers-in-law, Glover Laird and Tommy Garrett.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Weaver Congregational Methodist Church, with Rev. Keith Merritt officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Levi Garrett, Lee Stephens, Aaron Whetstone, Ian Whetstone, Ken Lanterman, and Tracy Chandler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Laird and Isaiah Garrett.
