Billy Smith

Billy Joe “Bill” Smith, 88 of Weaver, AL, passed away Thursday, January 15th at RMC in Anniston. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joann E. Wiggins Smith, his parents, John and Alpha Smith, and brothers, Wayne, Thomas, and John. Bill is survived by his brother Richard Smith, his sons Billy Smith, Danny Smith (Kristi), Larry Smith (Dianne), and his daughter Carla Key (Bryan). He was a wonderful Papa “Pop” to his grandkids Stevie Jones (Luke), Adam Smith (Casey), Lunden Beggs, Jarod Smith (Paige), Amber Turner (Kyle), Wayne Smith, and nine great grandkids.

Bill was a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. Sitting around a table, in the woods, on the water, or on the golf course, he loved spending time with family and friends. And he was always up for laughing at a joke.

Bill was a successful business man and the owner of The Furniture Outlet in Anniston, AL.

Bill, Dad, Papa “Pop”, was a man loved and respected by many. He left behind a legacy in his family, and he will be loved, remembered, and missed by many.

Funeral services for Bill will be Tuesday, January 20, 2026 in the chapel of Gray Brown Service Mortuary 1329 WIlmer Avenue Anniston Alabama at 1:00pm. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the service begins. A graveside service at Anniston Memorial Gardens 4000 US-431 Anniston, Alabama 36206 will immediately follow funeral service. His grandson, Rev. Adam Smith, will be officiating the service, and the pallbearers will be Bryan Key, Lunden Beggs, Jarod Smith, Wayne Smith, Danny Shears, and Steve Williams.
