Calvin Cooledge Rhodes

Alexandria – Funeral services for Mr. Calvin Cooledge Rhodes, 91 of Alexandria will be held Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Haynie, C.J. Boyd, and Rev. Kelly Lee officiating with burial to follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m.

Mr. Rhodes passed on Monday, February 15, 2016 at the home of his daughter.

Mr. Rhodes is survived by his daughters, Linda (Lester) Houston, Joyce (Rodney) Boyd, and Sheila (Kelly) Lee; son, Larry (Carla) Rhodes; son-in-law, Alvin Whitehead; grandchildren, Scott Houston, Randy Houston, Shawnee Patterson, Shane Whitehead, Tracy Whitehead, Gina Graham, Shasta McFry, C.J. Boyd, Sonya Lewallen, Stephanie Johnson, Allison Sanders, and Michelle Smith; thirty great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Scott Houston, Donnie McClellan, Elvis Rhodes, Gary Rhodes, Gary Reynolds and Roger Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be a special nephew Junior Rhodes.

Mr. Rhodes is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Martha Rhodes; daughter, Wanda Rhodes Whitehead; parents, Murt and Mae Rhodes; brothers, Earnest, Lester, Jack, and Murt Rhodes; sisters, Lena Shaw, Eva Rhodes, and Laura Porter.

Mr. Rhodes was retired from U.S. Pipe and Foundry. The family would like to say a special thanks to Nurses Shirley, Patti, and LaTonya for their loving care.
