Dean is survived by her daughter Kimberly Allen Dunaway; her step daughter Laura Huggins (Brian); and her step son Thomas Bledsoe (April); her sisters Vickie Phillips (Sidney), and Lynn Stegall (Curtis) and her brother Stanley Layton (Susan); her grandchildren Chase Bledsoe, Megan Sinquefield, Kenzi Cole, Halee Crabtree, Savana Mezquiriz, Brooklynn Shetter, William Shetter, and her great grandchild Ryker Bledsoe, and several nieces and nephews.
Dean was preceded in death by her spouses Danny Allen and Richard Bledsoe; her daughter Deanna Danielle Allen, her step sons Dewayne Allen and Shane Allen; her parents Sanford and Helen Layton.
Funeral services for Dean will be Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with Rev. Wayne Dunaway officiating. Entombment will follow at Forestlawn Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers are Cole Bearden, Ryan Bearden, Phillip Bearden, William Shetter, Micah Phillips and Wayne Layton.
Dean was a native of Ragland, Alabama and a resident of Anniston. She graduated from Ragland High School and attended Gadsden State Community College. Before retiring, she was active with Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce and Anniston Kiwanas Club. She was a member of Anniston Elks Lodge 189 and Emblem Club. She loved entertaining and watching Alabama Football. Dean enjoyed her beach times and loved to spend time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who touched a lot of lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
