

Ohatchee - Funeral services for Mrs. Dianne G. Betts, 64, of Ohatchee will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Samuels and Rev. Joe Jones officiating with burial following at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Betts passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 at UAB in Birmingham.
Mrs. Betts is survived by her husband, Gerald Betts; daughter, Rachel Betts; sons, Drew and Brandon Betts; mother, Earline Godbey; sister, Elizabeth (Tommy) Kelly; brothers, Crockett (Susie) Godbey, Robert (Sandra) Godbey, and Stephen (Mary Lou) Godbey.
Mrs. Betts is preceded in death by her father, Paul C. Godbey.
Pallbearers will be Ken Currie, Tom Mullins, Tommy Kelly, Danny Robertson, Don Betts, Crockett Godbey, Stephen Godbey, and Kelly Pyle Jr.
Mrs. Betts was a native of Birmingham, a graduate of Butler High School class of 1968. She graduated from JSU in 1972 where she received a B.S. in Education, and received her Master in 1977 in secondary education; she was a member of Ohatchee United Methodist Church. Mrs. Betts taught history at Saks High School from 1973 to 2000.
Mrs. Betts interest were history, reading, genealogy, traveling, Yard Sales and Snow skiing
