Weaver– Funeral service for Mr. Donald Joe Burney, 58, of Weaver will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Harper officiating with burial to follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 – 3 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Burney went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Burney is survived by his wife, Sherry Burney; daughter, Amy Burney (Adam) Alvord; son, Anthony (Shelena) Cofield; father, Joe Burney; sister, Sheila (Rick) Gibson; sister-in-laws, Diane (Paul) Price and Tina Burney; brother-in-law, Jack (Judy) Gray; grandson, Luke Alvord; Pallbearers will be Shane Price, Landon Price, Dalton Chandler, Tommy Hanson, Paul Price, and Donald Price.

Mr. Burney is preceded in death by his mother, Ann Burney; and brother, Mike Burney.

Mr. Burney was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County, a member of Saks Baptist Church. He graduated from Saks High School and attended Auburn University. Mr. Burney was a Quality and Engineering Manager at Associated Metalcast; he was a loving husband, father, Paw Paw, and son who will be dearly missed.
