Edwin Harbin

OXFORD – Funeral service for Edwin Ray "Pop" Harbin, age 71, of Oxford, AL, will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Tankersly officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 -8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Harbin passed away, Friday, July 8, 2011 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Mr. Habin is survived by his wife of 54 years, Martha Tyler Harbin; two sons: Thomas Edwin Harbin (Patricia), Michael Jason Harbin (Amanda), five granddaughters: Taylor Harbin, Payton Harbin, Madison Harbin, Katelyn Harbin and Mallory Harbin; one grandson: Porter Wheat: one brother: Nelson Harbin of Jacksonville and one sister JoAnn Reese of Anniston along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Harbin was a native and lifelong resident of Anniston. He grew up in Blue Mountain and as 1 1957 graduate of Alexandria High School. He was a member of the United States Air Force for 22 years and served in Vietnam. He also retired from International Enterprises in Talladega after 20 years of service. Mr. Harbin was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Velma Harbin and his brother Glenn Harbin.
