

Emma Rutledge Carr, born December 04, 1941, in Oxford, AL went to her Heavenly home on May 25, 2025. Graveside service will be Wednesday, May 28th beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Garden with Gray Brown Funeral Home handling her service. Officiating services will be Danny Rodriguez
Emma was a loving wife, mother and mawmaw. She was a graduate of Oxford High School and a member of West Point Baptist Church. She had unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her love and compassion to all who knew her. Her passion for being a homemaker was her greatest joy, from baking to cooking great meals. Gardening was another one of her great passions. You would often find her working in her flowers and watching the hummingbirds. She found joy in the small things in life.
She is survived by her 2 sons; Tony Carr (Johnnie) of Wellington; and Stanley Carr (Carla) of Jacksonville; 4 grandchildren, Heath Carr of Weaver; Caitlyn Abernathy (Grant) of Wellington; Cameron Murray (Stefanie) of Piedmont; Hunter Carr (Ashleigh) of Jacksonville. 11 great grandchildren, Landon Abernathy; Malley Abernathy; Calli Carr; Kyler Carr; Madelyn Carr; Easton Carr; Kynlee Russell; Jasper Russell; Asher Russell; Atticus Murray and Greyson Carr.
Emma was proceeded in death by her husband, Richard Carr; her parents George and Willie Browning Rutledge; 4 brothers, Ed, Eugene, Paul and James Rutledge; and 2 sisters, her twin Eva Rutledge McKenzie and Mary Nell Prosch.
Emma was deeply loved by her family and friends and will greatly missed.
