

Frank (Skip) Butenschon IV, (50), passed away on February 1, 2011 at Boca Raton Community Hospital after a brief illness.
Skip was the father of Nakescha Butenschon Torres, and the Grandfather of Mia Nevaeh Torres. He graduated from Valdosta High School where he was Drum Major of the 1977 Valdosta High School Marching Cats, which won the renowned festival of the states National Field Championship in St Petersburg, Fla. Skip had a very successful career in computer programming and as a sales executive in south Florida area, and was a resident there for over 20 years. He was also a resident of Calhoun County when he was younger and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He will be remembering as a loving son, brother, and father and he will surely be missed.
He is survived by his daughter Nakescha Butenschon Torres (Husband Ricky); a grand-daughter Mia Nevaeh Torres of Boca Raton Florida. He is also survived by his mother Kathy Burgess (Husband Bub) of Alexandria, Al, and his father Frank “Sonny” Butenschon III (wife Susan) of Valdosta, Ga., his Grandmother Ola Mae Smith of Anniston, Al: four brothers: Stacey Burgess of Alexandria, Al, Brad Burgess (wife Sandra) of Alexandria, Al, Kevin Butenschon (wife Kendra) of Valdosta, Ga, and Chris Butenschon of Guntersville, Al, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Frank Butenschon Senior, his grandmother, Carrie Butenschon both of Oxford, Al and his grandfather, Frank A Smith of Anniston.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2011, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with The Reverend Eugene Burgess officiating. Interment will be at the Butenschon plot in Oxford Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until time of service.
