Mr. Frank Furman Gibson

Funeral services for Mr. Frank Furman Gibson, age 80, of Saks, will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Scott Whetstone, Chester Pesnell and David Ginn officiating. Entombment will follow at Maple Grove Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the funeral home

Mr. Gibson passed away Monday, April 26, 2010, at NEARMC.

Survivors include his wife Bobbie Jean Gibson of Saks; daughter, Jan Gibson Moore and husband Steve Moore of Huntsville; son, Frank Jeffrey Gibson and wife Tawanna Vaughn Gibson of Muscadine; step-mother, Orabell Gibson of Seneca, SC; brother, Harold D. Gibson and wife Marie Gibson of Seneca, SC; grandchildren, Jonathon Moore and wife Amanda Cook, Matthew Moore, David Gibson, and Dixie Gibson; sister-in-law, Mary Gibson of Mauldin, SC; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his parents, Ira G. and Lena Roach Gibson; sister, Margaret Gibson, brothers, Jack V. Gibson and Kenneth Gibson.

Mr. Gibson was a native of South Carolina and resident of Saks. He retired with 22 years of service with the U. S. Army. He was employed for 10 years at Saks Elementary School lunchroom. He was of the Baptist Faith and attended Gladeview Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gladeview Baptist Church or the American Heart and Lung Association
