

Alexandria– Funeral services for Mr. George D. Findley, 78, of Alexandria, will be at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Dr. Deryl Wood officiating, with burial to follow at Post Oak Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:30 until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Findley passed Thursday, July 5, 2012 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Alexandria.
Mr. Findley is survived by his wife, Linda Findley; son, Steve (Kim) Findley; step-daughters, Karen (Josh) Niblett of Hoover, AL, Sharon (J.J.) Johnson of Seminole, FL, Kristi (Jimmy) Dodd of Alexandria; sister, Anne (Roger) Harris of Pell City; grandchildren, Chris Findley, Casey Findley, Dale (Heather) Findley, Tyler Burr, Tori Ray Stillwell, Shaw Niblett, Harper Niblett, Sky Niblett, Jay Michael Johnson, Caleb Johnson, and Zeke Johnson; great grandchild, Jasper Findley.
Pallbearers will be Chris Findley, Dale Findley, Tyler Burr, Jimmy Cruse, Jack Hildebrant, and Marshall Harvey. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Post Oak Springs Baptist Church, Calhoun County Farmers Federation Directors.
Mr. Findley was a member of Post Oak Springs Baptist Church, Calhoun County Farmers Federation, retired from Monsanto and Kimberly-Clark Corp.
Mr. Findley was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Hazel Findley; sister, Juanita Flores.
In Lieu of Flowers family request donations be made to New Beacon Hospice or Post Oak Springs Baptist Church. A special thanks to New Beacon Hospice Staff, Pam Harvey and Jamie Martin.
