Memorial service for Mr. Gordon “Gordy” Stinson, 62 of Jacksonville, will be 11:00 am,Monday, December 28, 2015 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Postell. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until service time.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Stinson; daughter, Misty Grubb (Brett); granddaughters, Maddie Grubb and Maizie Grubb; sister, Debbie Pence (Steve); brother, Jimmy Stinson (Roxanne); sister-in-law, Becky Wharam; brother-in-law, Junior Wharam; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stinson is preceded in death by his father, Phillip Stinson; mother, Maureen Gordon Stinson; and step-mother, Evelyn Borne Stinson.
Mr. Stinson retired from the U.S. Marines as a Gunny Sergeant. After retirement from the Marines, he worked for Homeland Security. Mr. Stinson was a former member of Gladeview Baptist and was a current member of First Baptist Church of Saks.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Stinson’s name to the First Baptist Church of Saks.
