Gwin was born in Randolph County, Alabama. He was an US Army Veteran of the Korean War, and proudly served as a Sergeant First Class from 1951-1954.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Carter Norred; daughter, Penny Norred Bolen; son, Terry Norred; stepsons, Craig Carter (Zillah), and Todd Carter (Anita); stepdaughter, Phyllis Williams (Rusty); granddaughter, Brandi Norred Maiorino (Michael); grandson, Phillip Norred (Andrew); two great-grandchildren; eight step Great-grandchildren, and three special nieces, Polly Hardegree (Don), Peggy Murray, and Judy Bates (John).
Gwin was active in the Corinth Methodist Church, and was employed at Linen Thread in Blue Mountain. He finished his career years at Roadway Express.
Gwin was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Willie Gaston Norred; brother, Clinton Norred; sister, Betty Norred Brooks; and his deceased wife, Patricia Clarke Norred.
Pallbearers will be Craig Carter, Todd Carter, Rusty Williams, Michael Maiorino, Corey McWhorter, and Jason Hardegree.
