Harold "Harry" Shaffer

Harry is survived by his daughters Miranda Eaves (Nick); and Bridgette Shaffer (Julius); his sons Zane Shaffer (Ashley); and Gareth Kiker (Samantha); his sisters Susan Sharp (Paul), Margaret Wagner, his brothers Ray Holder (Kim), Donald Shaffer, Allan Shaffer Jr. and Danny Shaffer; his bonus children Duston Beal (Jennifer), Amandy Riker (Rocky), Crystal Crims (Steven), his grandchildren Logan Goble, Layla Goble, Lawson Goble, Ava Humphries, Abby Shaffer, Rily Goodwin, Attlee Shaffer, Katrina Hawkins, Alexis Hawkins, Braxton Kiker, Abi Kiker, Savannah Riker, Haley Riker, Kaley Riker, Jaclyn Knightly and several nieces and nephews.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents Allen and Nellie Shaffer.

A graveside service for Harry will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Forestlawn Gardens with Rev. Daniel Harper officiating.

Serving as pallbearers are Jim Johnson, Robert George, Paul Sharp, Terry Wiley, Jon Green and Brother Gilmore.

He was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He worked for multiple police departments concluding his career at Express Oil as a mechanic. Harry was an avid Alabama Fan and loved to fish. His kind heart was evident even in times of illness, as he continued to show love and compassion to those around him. He cherished his children deeply and was a loving grandfather.
