

Alexandria- Funeral service for Mr. Harold E. “Warty” Warren, 70, will be Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Burgess officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Warren passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 at his residence after an extended illness.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; son, Duston (Dee) Warren; sisters, Sheila Warren, Tawanna (Bryant) Sysk; brother, Gray (Minnanette) Warren; grandchildren, Jeret Layne Warren, Jordan Tylar Warren, Taylor Laci Warren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ray Harris, Rodney Smitherman, Frank Tucker, Jeret Warren, Jordan Warren, Kevin Welch, Mike Cobb, Jimmy Dodd; honorary pallbearers will be members of the Alexandria Sportsmen Club.
Mr. Warren is preceded in death by his son, Derek Lane Warren; parents, Ann M. Hibbs and Edward Warren.
Mr. Warren was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He retired from M&H Valve after 43 years of service and was of the Baptist faith.
Harold received many accolades and outstanding awards, but he would consider his work, love, and devotion to the youth of Alexandria as one of his greatest joys, accomplishments and achievements in life. He touched thousands of lives resulting in an infinite positive legacy spanning 46 years. His influence in this community will continue to live in the hearts of the multitude of people who loved him and was touched by his works, kindness, and love.
Harold loved his family. They were very special to him and brought him much happiness. He will be missed as he was a pillar of strength and a rock to all of them. His friends were numerous and showed their love by their many acts of kindness during his life and through his illness.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Derek Warren Memorial Scholarship Fund at any Noble Bank & Trust branch.
