Hazel O'Shields Smith

Funeral service for Hazel O’Shields Smith, 96, 0f Anniston will be Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 2:00 at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with Pastor Dale Clem officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Smith passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Jacksonville.

Survivors include her daughters Caroline Neller (Tim), Kaye Watson, Lucy Frost (Randy), sons John Patterson (Brenda), David O’Shields, eleven grandchildren sixteen great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her parents, sister and late husband Marvin Smith.

Pallbearers will be Shem Grisdale, Ian Patterson, Christopher Matyjasik, Randy Frost, Christian Godwin, Tim Neller.

Mrs. Smith was a lifelong resident of Anniston. She graduated Anniston High School. She was a member of 1st United Methodist Church where she served in the choir. A special thanks to Jacksonville Health and Rehab unit 2 and Comfort Care Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama endowment fund.
