
Funeral service for James Ray Cosper, 79, of Weaver, will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Brother Joe Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11- 1pm at the funeral home. Mr. Cosper died Monday, March 26, 2012 at RMC.
Mr. Cosper is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sara Medders Cosper; two sons, Randy Cosper (Sherry) of Oxford, and Terry Cosper of Alexandria; three granddaughters, Keri Johnson (Chris) of Birmingham; Melinda Amberson (Lee) of North Carolina and Katie Cosper of Oxford; one grandson; Jamie Cosper (Rikki) of Southside; five great-grandchildren, Emily, Abby and Will Johnson, Steven Amberson and Alexa Cosper; brother, Bill Cosper of Dadeville; sister, Sharon Truitt of Texas; and several nephews and nieces.
Mr. Cosper is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lewis and Iris Ray Cosper; brothers, Jimmy Cosper and Elwin Cosper; and daughter-in-law, Jaundra Cosper.
Mr. Cosper served in the U.S. Navy and retired from M&H Valve after 37 years of service. He was a member of Ohatchee United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Cosper, Chris Johnson, Lee Amberson, Jimbo Cosper, Scott Cosper, and Todd Cosper.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Joy Sunday School Class of Ohatchee United Methodist Church.
Mr. Cosper was a loving husband, father, Paw Paw and friend. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, gardening, and Braves baseball. He will be missed by all who knew him. Online condolences made at www.graybrownservice.com
