James Mack Kines, of Anniston, Alabama, born March 8, 1947, passed away as James Michael Kines, Sr., on February 4, 2025, peacefully surrounded by his children and grandchildren. James, or Jimmy as most called him, was born and raised in Anniston. He graduated from Anniston High School in 1965.
Jimmy retired from the Ball Corporation in 2007. After retirement he took care of his beloved wife, Jacquelyn Kines until she passed away in 2015. Jimmy reentered the workforce to keep him busy because he couldn’t sit still. Jimmy began working at the Dollar Tree in 2015, a job he loved dearly because of his coworkers and his ability to mingle with the public. Jimmy never met a stranger. Jimmy loved life and his family. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, James Fred Kines and Electa Louise Kines, and his siblings Billy Wayne Kines and Sarah Ellen Smith. Jimmy is survived by his children, James M. Kines, Jr. (Lisa), Jeffrey M. Kines (Amy), Julie M. Kines and Michelle D. Kines, grandchildren Jeffrey “Seth” Kines (Bethany), Jared M. Kines, Demari E. Kines-Grant, EllaMae B. Kines, James T. Kines, Curtisie Smith, Chaslynne Smith, and Skyler Robinett (Autumn), great-grandchildren Gracelyn Kines, Everlee Kines, Payson Robinett and Cade Robinett, sibling Patricia (Don) Dietz, and by many much loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jimmy loved to watch Alabama football and Braves baseball, he loved to cook, he loved to be in his garden, and he loved to help others. If he wasn’t saving the world with his good deeds, then he was making those around him laugh and smile. He was loved by so many and will truly be missed.
