A visitation will be held Monday evening, April 28th, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 29th, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary at 1:00pm, followed by an entombment at Maple Grove Mausoleum. Officiating the services will be Rev. Harold Payne, pall bearers will be Kaleb Jennings, Christopher Jennings, Daniel Eady, Josh Smith, James Moran and Chris Brewster.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Smith of Talladega; One daughter, Brenda Eady (Glenn), of Anniston, three sons James Smith Jr. (Marsha), Jerry Smith Sr., and Jaden Smith of Talladega; his brother Joe Smith (Sharon); his sister Alice Harper (Garry); along with 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son Keith Smith; his father James "Jimbo" Smith; his mother Mildred Smith; two brothers Charles and Larry Smith and a sister Margie Moran.
Mr. Smith was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and even great great grandfather. Nothing meant more to him than his precious family. He proved that to be true by working very hard most of his life. He retired from the Merita bread company after several years of service and was a faithful member of the Oxford Congregational Holiness Church. His gentle spirit and contagious smile will be greatly missed by all of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
