A memorial service for Mrs. Jane Seegar Nance, 80, will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Eulaton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Huddleston officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service at the church. A private burial will follow at a later date. Mrs. Nance passed away peacefully Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Regional Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Thomas Edward "Sonny" Nance; her parents, Charlie Pearse and Lera Ballard Seegar; brothers, Ballard Seegar, Thomas Seegar, Billy Seegar and John Seegar. Survivors include her children, Beverly Nance, Andi Nance Baker (Rob) and Susie Nance; her grandson, Adam Nance (Adam Hand); her sister, Gertrude Adcock; several nieces and nephews and many good friends. Mrs. Nance was a native of Wedowee and lived in Anniston since 1954. She was beloved wife, mother and friend. She loved God, her family and friends in that order. She loved spending time with those closest to her and her gift for storytelling will be greatly missed. She was generous in spirit, be it cooking and sharing a favorite recipe or creating handmade gifts for her loved ones. She enjoyed reading, fishing, Auburn football and Atlanta Braves. She and her late husband were advocates for those with intellectual and physical disabilities and worked diligently to help build the TMR program at Wellborn High School when their youngest daughter was a student in the program. The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the staff of the Progressive Care and Intensive Care Unit of Regional Medical Center; Doctors Louis Divalentin, John Valente, Rohit Patel, Prathyusa Maddela and Mohamed Eloubeidi for the concern and care given to Mrs. Nance and her family during her illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a favorite charity or in keeping with Mrs. Nance's sweet character, the performance of random acts of kindness.
