Funeral service for Mrs. Janett Laird Self, 85, Anniston will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Eulaton United Methodist Church with Rev. Virgil Bohn officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Mrs. Self is survived by her husband, Fred Self; daughter, Lisa Self Jones (William); son, Ross Laird Self (Nancy); brother, Dr. Christopher E. Laird (Mary); grandchildren, Emily Self Funcik (Robert), William Ross Jones, and Joshua Michael Jones; great grandchildren, Caleb Robert Funcik and Joshua Rivers Funcik. Mrs. Self is preceded in death by her parents, C.W. and Elizabeth Laird and sister, Nelda Etta Laird. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sam Star Sunday School Class at Eulaton United Methodist Church. Mrs. Self attended Anniston High School and Jacksonville State University. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She taught math at several schools in the Calhoun County Area. She taught school for 31 years. Mrs. Self was a member of Eulaton United Methodist Church.In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Comfort Care Hospice.
