Graveside services for Jessie Mae Higginbotham Swindall, 86, of Ohatchee will be 2 pm Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Steele, Alabama. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 – 8 pm and Thursday from 11 am – 1 pm at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary. Mrs. Swindall passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 at her residence.

Survivors include three daughters, Dianne Gandy Barker, Sherry Lynn Barker and Tammy Jean Leece, four sons, Jeffery David Gandy, Michael Eugene Williams, John Swindall Jr., and Danny Swindall, sister, Carolyn Angle, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Swindall is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, John Lee Swindall, parents, Wesley and Louise Higginbotham, daughters, Patricia Barker and Patsy Swindall, son, Billy Joe Gandy, grandsons, Christopher Barker and Cody Barker and son-in-law, Billy Barker.

Mrs. Swindall was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who brought immeasurable joy and light into the lives of many. She will be dearly missed.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Barker, Devon Rodgers, Preston Godfrey, Randy Maxwell, Scotty Godfrey and Eddie Davis.
