Our hearts ache to announce that Joan Denise Box Mack, 56, of Jacksonville, passed away at UAB Hospital on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., at Gray Brown-Service Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m.
Joan is survived by her husband of 37 years, Robert Mack; daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Mack; sons, Kevin Lee Mack (April) and Kyle Alan Mack; mother, Juanita H. Box; brothers, Richard A. Box, Jr. (Maliea), Robert W. Box (Toni), and Jimmy Lee Box; grandchildren, Autumn, Amy, and Amelia Mack; several nieces and one nephew.
She is preceded in death by her father, Richard A. Box, Sr.
Joan was a beautiful, kind, caring and generous spirit who always thought of others and was always ready to help anyone in need. She worked at Anniston Army Depot for over 20 years. She was a graduate of Weaver High School and longtime member of Weaver Church of Christ. Joan loved spending time with her grandchildren and family, anything to do with history, reading, music, playing piano, flowers, plants, treasure hunting shows, and shopping for antiques with her daughter.
