Joyce Loretta Briggie

Joyce Loretta Briggie, 88, of Ohatchee was born on July 24, 1936 and passed away on June 22, 2025. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 4:00pm at Oak Bowery Baptist Church in Ohatchee with visitation from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at the church with the Burial following at Middleton Presbyterian Cemetery.

Joyce Loretta Briggie is survived by her granddaughters Ryan Burns (Jeremy) and Michele Colvin; her grandsons Kevin Colvin (Aimee), Kenneth Colvin (Nilawan), and Kendall Hester; her great granddaughters Hope Brown (Tyler), and Lauren Burns; her great grandson Lincoln Burns; her great great granddaughter Taylor Brown; her brother in law Bob Briggie(Ann); nephew Mike Howard (Cynthia) and niece Keitha Wicklund; son in law Scottie Colvin; many grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Briggie is preceded in death by her husband Charles Briggie, her daughters Bonita Colvin and Gatha Cardinal (Jim), her mother and father Alex and Lizzie Goode, her grandson Heath Taylor and her Sister Dorothy Howard (Hershel).

Mrs. Briggie was a native to Calhoun County. She was a member of Oak Bowery Baptist Church and the Ohatchee Senior Center. She worked decades at Wakefields/Martins in the men’s dept where she loved it. She never missed an opportunity to tell you a story from her many life experiences. In her retirement she spent a lot of her time caring for others. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend. Her sassy chatty playful personality will be greatly missed by many.
