Joyce Gail Champion

She was a resident of Delta, Alabama.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Paula Weldon (Neil), and her son, Phillip Haynes (Jennifer Johnson). She is also survived by her brother, Rev. Jerry Patterson. Her grandchildren include Paul Massa (Elizabeth), Christopher Massa (Aiden), and Michael Massa (Jessie King Massa), her 11 Great Grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Ed Patterson, her mother, Artry Patterson Baker, and her husband, Charles Champion.

The active pallbearers will be Chris Marler, Tracy Morrison, Chris Massa, Michael Massa, Neil Weldon, and Ray Boswell.

Services for Joyce will be Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 12:00 at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with Neil Weldon officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Baptist Cemetery in Delta, Alabama.The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Joyce was a native of Talledega, grew up in Alexandria later moved to Anniston. She retired from Huron Valley Steel and later became a cook at Top O The River in Anniston. Joyce enjoyed fishing with her great granddaughter and loved to work in her flower garden, listening to gospel music and spending time with her great grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
