

Anniston – Funeral service for Master Sergeant, Kenneth Lewis Badgett, age, 60, will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 26, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Saks with Dr. Randy Postell officiating. Mr. Badgett will lie in state one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home
Mr. Badgett passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010 in Georgia.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Reese Badgett of Anniston; daughter, Amber Badgett Law and husband, Tyler of Birmingham; son, Andrew Reese Badgett and wife Jessica Adams of Birmingham; step-mother, Hazel Badgett of Anniston; sisters, Annette Andrews of Bethlehem, PA, Pamela Reese Hinds of Anniston, Lana Reese Murphy of Birmingham; brother, Vic Murphy of Birmingham; mother and father-in-law, Mary Reese and Hogan Dickert of Anniston; grand-daughter, Alexis Kayte Law; nieces and nephews, Brandon Hinds, Brittney Oswalt, Mallony Murphy, Meagan Murphy, Blake Murphy, Ranea Browning, Valarie Charous.
Pallbearers will be Rick Harper, Joe Wright, Dennis Wells, Bob Neal, John Cassell and D. J. Luallen.
Mr. Badgett was a native of Alabama and lifelong resident of Anniston. He served with the U. S. Army and retired with the U. S. Government receiving many awards including Meritorious Service Medal, Superior Civilian Service Award, The Army Commendation Medal and The Army Achievement Medal. He was a 1968 graduate of Saks High School where he played on the football team from 1965 – 1968. He was a long time youth coach of Saks and active in youth activities, football, baseball and basketball. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Saks.
