Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday December 16, 2022 at Chapel Hill Funeral. Visitation is open to family and friends prior to the funeral from 10 am-11 am in the Chapel. Rev. Tim Green and Rev. Craig Reynolds will be officiating. Burial will be at 2 pm at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Leahey retired from Jenkins Manufacturing after 29 years of service and started his own trucking business KDL Trucking LLC. He enjoyed riding Harleys, Camping, traveling, Blue Grass music and spending time with friends and family.
Mr. Leahey is survived by his wife of 47 years, Brenda Ledbetter Leahey; daughter, Angie (Jimmy) Fisher; grandchildren, Ashley McCulley and Dalton Fisher; great grandchildren, Maddie, Eliot and Huntley McCulley; Special nephew, Byron (Leslie) McPherson; great niece and nephew; Emily Joy and Justin McPherson; mother of his children, Ruth Thomas and his beloved fur baby Bella; sisters, Shirley Finley, Caffie (Mike) Swafford and Vickie McIntyre; brother, Randy (Kristi) Leahey and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Leahey is preceded in death by his son, Timothy Doyle Leahey; grandson, Brandon Dodgen; parents, Garvin and Roberta (Green) Leahey; brother, Bobby Leahey; sisters, Beverly Leahey McCullars and Carolyn Leahey Denny; sister-in-law, Regenia Ledbetter Leahey; niece-in-law, Danelle Swafford and Dear Friend (Husband-in-law) Dexter Thomas.
Pallbearers will be Byron McPherson, Eric (Duck) Mangum, Todd McPherson, Allen McPherson, Ronnie Harkins and Dalton Fisher. Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Swafford, Johnny Douthit and Mike Griffith.
